Course content
Lectures (2 hours each) 1. Veterinary management of rabbit kept for meat and fur 2. Non-infectious and metabolic diseases of rabbits 3. The most important infectious diseases of rabbits 4. Veterinary management of nutrias breeding 5. Veterinary management of chinchillas breeding 6. Veterinary management of carnivorous fur animals (minks, foxed) Practical training (12 hours in total) 1. Seminar - Zoohygiene and diet of rabbits and fur animals 2. Rabbit and fur animal breeding in the Czech Republic

Learning outcomes
The subject is direct to veterinary care in a commercial bred rabbits, farm raised herbivorous (nutria, chinchilla) and carnivorous (mink, foxes) fur bearing animals. The accent is lay to integrated approach to disease prevention and control (specificity of physiology, ethology, nutrition, reproduction, diagnostic of diseases, therapy and welfare).
