Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to provide basic information on the structure and function of the immune system, including the specifics in different farm and domestic animal species and categories, its importance in the defence against infectious and tumour diseases, causes and mechanisms of the development of the immune system disorders and basic applications under practical conditions. In the lectures, mechanisms of nonspecific and specific immunity, defence mechanisms in infectious and non-infectious processes and the causes and mechanisms of the immunopathological conditions will be explained. Practicals, which are carried out in a form of practical training, deal with fundamentals of serology and methods of clinical immunology and vaccinology.
