Lectures: 1. Canids. Domestication. The history of the use of the dog. 2. Dog anatomy and Physiology. 3. Dog ontogeny. 4. Dog reproduction. 5. Genetics in dog breeding. 6. Dog behaviour. 7. Learning in dogs. Training and welfare. 8. Dog Nutrition and welfare. 9. Dog's health and welfare. Pain in dogs: identification and solution. 10. Breeding and welfare. 11. Breeding groups and breeds of dogs. 12. Dog organizations. 13. use of dogs in the present, canine disciplines. 14. Legislation in dog breeding. Exercise: 1. The importance of the dog in human society. 2. Breed standards. Dog shows. 3. Working dogs. Service dogs. 4. Hunting dogs. Herd dogs. 5. Agility, dogdancing, dogfrisbee, dogtrekking, mushing, dog coursing and other sports. 6. Guide and assistance dogs. Canistherapy. 7. Presentation of the essay. Credit.
